man Guigues of Albon, Count of Albon‏‎ 1)

Died ‎29 Jul 1162 Chateau de Vizille‎, approximately 42 years 2)

Married ‎± 1155 2) (approximately 7 years married)
to:

woman Beatrice Unknown‏‎ 1)

Notes: Manteyer discusses Beatrice's possible ancestry at length, but there is too little certainty to include anything here. It can with some certainty be said she is linked to the Counts of Montferrat, though whether via her father, or via her mother, it is unclear.

The two prevalent hypotheses are:
1) Beatrice is a daughter of Alberto di Parodi, Margrave of Gavi and Matilda de Montferrat

Matilda de Montferrat is either a daughter of William V of Montferrat, or a sister. If she is a daughter this results in two generations occuring in a c22 year period - which is borderline impossible. If she is a sister then it does work chronologically. However, the primary source being relied on to reach this conclusion is currently unknown.

2) Beatrice is a daughter of William V of Montferrat and Judith of Babenberg. This is chronologically challenging.
