Born ‎± 880
Died ‎950‎, approximately 70 years

Notes: Hywel Dda (English: Hywel the Good) or Hywel ap Cadell (c.880 - 950) was a King of Deheubarth who eventually came to rule most of Wales. He became the sole king of Seisyllwg in 920 and shortly thereafter established Deheubarth, and proceeded to gain control over the entire country from Prestatyn to Pembroke. As a descendant of Rhodri Mawr through his father Cadell, Hywel was a member of the Dinefwr branch of the dynasty. He was recorded as King of the Britons in the Annales Cambriae and the Annals of Ulster.

man Owain ap Hywel Dda of Dinefwr, King of South Wales‏ 1)
Died ‎988

Notes: Owain ap Hywel (died c. 988) was king of Deheubarth in south Wales and probably also controlled Powys.

Owain was one of the three sons of Hywel the Good. Upon Hywel's death in 948, Owain, Rhodri, and Edwin divided his lands among themselves according to Welsh law. The sons were not able to retain Hywel's hegemony over Gwynedd, which was reclaimed for its earlier dynasty by the sons of Idwal Foel.
