 Beatrice of Portugal 1)Died 25 Dec 1447 East Shefford, Berkshire, England Notes: Thomas Fettiplace was Beatrice's second husband. She was initially married to Gilbert Talbot. Thomas was Steward of Lord Talbot's manors in Oxfordshire from 1413 so would have known Beatrice for almost a decade before their marriage. Beatrice's ancestry is unclear. She was certainly Portuguese and bore the ancient arms of Portugal, albeit quartered with five saltires. Early visitations describe her as "daughter of the King of Portugal". With surviving evidence, there is no uncontroversial reconstruction of her ancestry.
