Died ‎before 1130 1)
Occupation: Chamberlain 2)

Notes: Herbert appears in the Domesday book as "Herbert the chamberlain"

Herbert died sometime after 1111 and certainly before 1130 when his son pays a fine for the inheritance of Herbert's lands. It is probable Herbert the Chamberlain is the "H. the Chamberlain" who attempted to assasinate Henry I in 1118 and whom the King subsequently blinded and castrated as punishment.
