Notes: John's inventory is an interesting read. In addition to typical household goods there appear significant quantities of bacon, corn, oats, ten cows, six heifers and a bull, five yeeklings, six horses, four score and fourteen sheep, six pigs, sown wheat, hay, 36 acres of fallow land, 14 acres of sown pulses.

John's identity as father of John is confirmed by his son being referred to as "John Hay Junr".

Notes: There are two Elizabeth Archard Hayes baptised within a year of each other (1697 and 1698). That Elizabeth who married George is the daughter of John and Catharine is proven by John and other immediate family members' wills.

John is also identified as "John Archard alias Hay Junr" in two of his children's baptism records: "John Hay born 1692 to John Hay Junr and Katherine Hay" and Mary Hay born 1693 - "ye daughter of John Hay Junr and Katherine his wife"
