Notes: Robert Wiltshire's children were baptised in and around Grittleton in between 1683 and 1700. He was described as "of Foscott" from around 1720 until 1730, on various mortgages he acquired. We know, however that he was in Foscott as early as 1705 based on references in later surviving documents.

For example, in the Seagry House estate files (https://archive.org/stream/wiltshirearchaeo431925192#page/300):
"Mortgage on The Lower Crofts acquired by Robt Wiltshire of Foscott in 1720 (at £100) and increased in value to £170 in 1725 when paid off."
"Morgage on Cromwell's Leaze - £40, acquired by Robt Wiltshure of Foscutt, yeo in 1722"
His daughters, ,and joint executors, Rebecca and Ann, were mentioned in Mar 1729/30 following his death

Robert appears in further Grittleton and Foscote records:
Robert Wiltshire firsts witnesses an indenture in Grittleton in 1718. That indenture was between "Jos Houlton of Grittleton and Priscilla his wife", and Rich White of Chippenham and Sarah his wife. (Page 223, https://archive.org/stream/wiltshirearchaeo441927, Wiltshire archaeological and natural history magazine.)
A 1729 indenture mentions a 1705 lease between Priscilla and Elizabeth White, and Robert Wiltshire, father of Walter Wiltshire for a cottage in Fosscot

Robert's children include:
Charles 1683
Priscilla 1684
Priscilla 1685
Mary (no baptism found) - brass plate in Grittleton 1709 aged 22
Elizabeth 1688
Priscilla (no baptism found) - brass plate in Grittleton 1732 aged 40. Wife of John Bennett
Rebecca (no baptism found) - brass plate in Grittleton 1769 aged 76
Walter 1696. Brass plate in Grittleton 1766 aged 70
Annie 1696
Ann (no baptism found) - brass plate in Grittleton 1742 aged 43. Or is she Annie?

No record has been found identifying Robert's parents. His baptism is not recorded in Grittleton or Foscott, or neighbouring parishes, and while he and his children leave wills, they make no references to his parents or cousins. There is a Robert Wiltshire mentioned in a non-conformist record related to Chippenham. Though Chippenham is not particularly far from Grittleton, there is no evidence to suggest that the two Robert Wiltshires are the same individual.

Robert Wiltshire may be of London, given the location of his marriage.
