Family

woman Dorothy Ashton‏‎
Died ‎Oct 1662 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England 1)
Buried ‎21 Oct 1662 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England 1)

Married ‎30 May 1613 Kilkhampton, Cornwall, England 2) (49 years married)
to:

man Nicholas Sherme‏‎ 3) 4)
Died ‎± Feb 1625/26 4) 5)
Buried ‎1 Mar 1625/26 5)

Notes: There are baptisms for a Nicholas Sherme in 1559 and 1561 - to Roger and John. Neither looks to be a match to this Nicholas - given they would make him over 50 at marriage.

Child:

1.
man John Sherme‏ 6) 7)
Born ‎± 1614 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England‎ 3)
Baptised ‎7 Apr 1614 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England 3)
Died ‎Feb 1694 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England Of Cory‎, approximately 80 years 8)
Buried ‎8 Feb 1694 Morwenstow, Cornwall, England 8)

Notes: A John Sherme, born to Nicholas Sherme in 1614, and a John Sherme born to John Sherme in 1617, are both plausible parents of this John. The former may be slightly likelier, given Thomasin's age. Additionally, the John baptised in 1617 is described as "of Harscott". This John is of Cory. There is a separate "of Harscott" John, who has children and then dies at Harscott - and therefore this is not him. Other weak evidence in support of the 1614 baptism, is that John and Thomasin have children called Nicholas and Dorothy - both reasonably uncommon names.
