Born ‎± 1070 Died ‎1129‎, approximately 59 years ²⁾ Married/ Related to: ‎ Bertha Unknown‏‎ Notes: Various online trees show Bertha as a member of the "de Balun" family. No evidence has been observed for this. Moreover, it would be unusual for Walter's mother to be a "de Balun" and his wife to similarly be, as most online trees show. Children: 1. ‎ Miles of Gloucester, 1st Earl of Hereford‏‎ ²⁾ Died ‎4 Dec 1143 ²⁾ Notes: Acquired the castle of Abergavenny in 1141, which he added to inheritances from his father and father-in-law/wife. 2. ‎ Matilda FitzWalter‏‎
