He was referred to as a Duke of noble, Bavarian descent by Thegan - suggesting some connection to the various noble Bavarian families. Any attempt to Married/ Related to: Hedwig Unknown, Abbess of Chelles 5) 3) Died after 832 5 November 5) Notes: Hedwig was identified as of the most noble Saxon race by Thegan and there is circumstantial evidence suggesting kinship with Count Egbert. The nature of that relationship is, however, unclear. Abbess of Chelles, later in life. Children: 1. Conrad of Auxerre, Count in Argengau and Linzgau 4)Died after 862 22 March 1) Notes: Conrad's identification as a son of Welf, is indirect - through texts (e.g. Nithard and Thegan) that identify Judith as a sister of Conrad and Rudolf. |
