Elizabeth BluetBorn ± 1357 1) Died 1420, approximately 63 years Notes: Heir of the Bluet family - her inheritance brought the Lordship of Raglan and Daglingworth Manor into the Berkeley family. -- An Elizabeth, descendant of John Bluet married James de Berkeley John Bluet had a daughter named Elizabeth who married a Bartholomew Picot/Bigot. This Elizabeth was born circa 1357 per IPM If we assume Elizabeth was the daughter of John Bluet then it must be assumed James was her second husband and that she had children relatively late (say late thirties). While that cannot be refuted, it is equally possible that the Elizabeth who married James de Berkeley was John's granddaughter - i.e. a daughter of Elizabeth and Bartholomew. The former construction has been shown here (in accordance with most secondary sources) but, on the balance of probabilities, the evidence for both constructions is equally strong. |
