John Botetourt 1) 2) Died 25 Nov 1324 3) 4) Notes: The evidence for Ada being a daughter of John Botetourt is as follows: Various Feet of Fines detail land transactions between John Botetourt and Maud, and John St Philibert and Ada, that are suggestive of parent-children relationship. (e.g. Dives Hall manor, in Little Chignall). William of Latimer's describes Laurence Trussell as a cousin, in his will. William is a grandson of John Botetourt. Laurence Trussell is a granddaughter of Ada. Assuming that William meant a not too distant cousin then this is the most logical explanation. Married before 1294 5) (at least 30 years married) to: Maud FitzThomas 6) Daughter of Thomas FitzOtto and Beatrice de Beauchamp. Born between 1268 and 1271 5) 7) Died Y Notes: See John Botetourt for furter details on Maud being mother of Ada Botetourt. Co-heiress to her father. Theses manors presumably inherited by Maud as they were subsequently being held by Margaret, wife of John Botetourt. Belchamp Otes, Essex Belchamp William, Essex Children: |
