There is no obvious baptism record for either John, or his wife Sarah. John was convicted of swearing 10 oaths in 1753: "Memorandum of conviction of John Sanders of Seaton and Beer, mariner, for swearing ten oaths". 24 October 1753. Sureties: Elias Horsford of Seaton and Beer, mariner, and Samuel Dymond of Colyton, blacksmith". 29 October 1753.
