Notes: Bethoc is almost certainly not a daughter of Donald III of Scotland, though that relationship has been shown here given its historic importance. John Comyn's claim for the Kingdom of Scotland two centuries later was based on his descent from Donald via Bethoc! Bethoc was alive in the last quarter of the twelth century yet her father was born in the first quarter of the eleventh century.
